For a long time I have wanted to use my water colors to enhance certain aspects of today’s world.
I am attracted by things that have been modified and worn out by the years - heaps of scrap metal left to rust in courtyards, garages filled with spiders’ webs and tools from another age, abandoned factories. I also wanted to involve people be they workers, vagabonds or forgotten characters. There is no nostalgia in my eyes, rather a curiosity seeking to discover colors, textures, materials, all of which are challenges that inspire and motivate me.
Finally, I have been doing research on the representation of smoke and mists, under different forms of light and in various settings. Watercolor has enabled the dissemination of light through these materials and the achievement of highly contrasted work.
