About me

Hacene Ait ziane: “Is an Algerian artist, plastic painter, with an atypical university course. While he was destined for a career as a biologist, he frequented neighboring amphitheatres, attending classes in history, sociology, architecture, literature ... with a sketchbook, and watercolor notebook which collected sketches, more than lecture notes. All these subjects which fascinated him participated in his registration two years later, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Algiers, where he finally had to reveal his talents. Later, in a quest for authenticity, he moved to southern Algeria ... Then crossed Mali to Bamako. It is this generous human sharing that makes him a citizen of the world, as he likes to describe himself. The encounter with his works is like following "Ariadne's thread" which leads us on the paths of humanity in its symbolism. Inspired, in some of his compositions, by cave paintings, one can read there symbols of the Amazigh language, to which its roots are attached. Through his paintings, he awakens calls for deepening, curiosity and research. "He will tell you: Nothing defines me! I cannot enter into academic conformism. I paint what I am, the moment I paint. Everything is perfect in impermanence. And in the portraits, it is is the gaze that inspires me. This gaze which is the expression of a content but also of a container. " His curiosity for all forms of expression in art, make him an "Craftsman", a title he likes to wear. Very attached to other forms of pictorial expression, which can be found in illustrations for children's books. His gaze to capture snapshots, will manifest itself in sketches with humorous characters supported by titles which are no less so. But also in sculpture, clay ... to complete His particular attention, his listening, his spontaneity, make this artist a free being, in warm, patient contact, who likes to transmit and share. C.P
