Ilonka Muensterer-Maar

I am a German self-taught watercolour artist.

Being a member of the local Art Association I held numerous solo exhibitions and also participated in many group exhibitions. I am also a member of the German Watercolour Society.

Inspiration is one of the most important things for me as an artist. For example, I was in the fortunate position to spend some weeks in South Africa every year, and I´m really fascinated by the wildlife – for me an inexhaustible source of ideas for my paintings. I am working mainly from a combination of photographic reference, unforgettable impressions and my own imagination.

I hope that the viewer of my paintings will experience the pleasure and fascination I receive from the act of painting.
