About me

The watercolor technique is a long-standing personal choice, initiated by a long practice of drawing, in school and out of school, and it still captivates me today as it appeals to the subtle and to poetry. My approach, nourished by my university studies of art history and an almost intimate look at the work of the great Western and Eastern masters, made me navigate the immensity of possibilities, from wonder to pure joy, between the magic of fades and the energy of an ample and precise brushstroke.

I never wondered if I should paint figuratively or abstractly, because abstraction is everywhere in Nature, a nature that has guided me since childhood and shown harmony in everything, that of forms and of colors, that of sounds, that of measurement. Even today, it constitutes the substrate for my work as a painter, from the infinitely small to the infinitely large, between concrete and abstract, recognizable and unrecognizable, visible and invisible. All subjects interest me, the living and the inanimate. Seduced by the adventure represented by the magical fusion of water and pigments on paper, it is in their game that I like to seek, whether the starting point is imaginary or given to see.
