Mona Biswarupa Mohanty

Mona Biswarupa Mohanty, b.1977,  is an artist of Indian origin currently living and practicing in Dubai. Mona  received her formal training in Fashion and Textile Design from Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan and National Institute of Fashion Technology, NewDelhi. After working in the design indisurtry for a good decade and a half, she left her design job to pursue her true calling 'Art'. 

She paints with various medium, however ink and watercolor are very close to her heart, as she started her artistic journey with them. Her artworks depict nature, nature that is within as well as around.. Folk, femininity and simplicity inspire her and she often draws inspiration from her Indian roots that have a deep connection with tribal culture of Odisha. Her father is a poet who inspired her and developed her artistic point of view. He paints imagery with his words and Mona's work is her endeavor to recite a visual poetry that spreads joy in the viewer's heart.
