About me
I was born in Antwerp in 1952. Since my childhood I always loved drawing. Later, unfortunately, I forgot what an immense pleasure it gives to make a drawing or a painting. Now I am retired and picked up again the skills I forgot about. I started in September 2014 by making watercolours as an autodidact. Instantly I fell in love with the magic of water and paint. The transparency of watercolour always attracted me. Painting watercolours gives me so much pleasure I forget about the worries of getting older. However, I feel my technique can improve much more and so I started by following lessons in Namur at the “Ecole d’Aquarelle Namuroise” in September 2016.
I am inspired by the great watercolour artists and I am trying to find my own style so I can express myself at the most possible free manner. I love all subjects but more and more I am evolving towards an abstract style.
Je suis né à Anvers en 1952. Ma vie professionnelle orientée vers le monde du dessin technique ne m’ a laissé que peu de temps pour m’exprimer dans le domaine artistique. C’est donc une fois pensionné que je me suis senti plus libre et me suis lancé en 2014 dans l’aquarelle.
Elle est pour moi source de satisfaction et d’équilibre, tout en étant presque une forme de thérapie.
Je m’inspire des grands aquarellistes. J’aborde tous les sujets en y apportant ma sensibilité personnelle mais je m'oriente de plus en plus vers un style abstrait.
