About me

Chihiro Pierce is an internationally exhibited watercolor artist based in Juneau, Alaska, where the region’s lush rainforests, majestic mountains, and abundant wildlife inspire her work. Through her paintings, she hopes to bring a sense of peace, comfort, and connection with nature to people around the world.
Born and raised in Kobe, Japan, Chihiro studied oil painting at Musashino Art University Junior College of Art and Design before beginning her career as a perspective illustrator for an architectural firm. She later discovered her true artistic voice in watercolor, exploring florals, wildlife, landscapes, still life, and cityscapes.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), the National Watercolor Society (NWS), the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS), and the Aurora Watercolour Festival 2026 in Akureyri, Iceland. Her Still life paintings have appeared on the cover of Pratique des Arts (France) and in International Artist Magazine, while her rose paintings were featured in a two-page interview in The Art of Watercolour, a leading French magazine dedicated exclusively to watercolor art.
Chihiro is a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), a member of the Japan Watercolor Society since 2014, and a Brand Ambassador for DANIEL SMITH.

Through her luminous watercolors, Chihiro celebrates the beauty of nature, hoping each painting brings a moment of peace, wonder, and quiet joy to those who experience it.
