Carole Hennessy was born and raised in Chicago and the south suburbs. As a teenager, she took art classes at her high school and the Junior School of the Art Institute of Chicago and went on to earn her BFA from Quincy University. She has taught art at the high school and elementary levels in both Illinois and Missouri. Later she started her own framing and arts consulting business, Art Endeavors.
Hennessy has concentrated on watercolor for more than 40 years. Over this time she has furthered her experience thru workshops with nationally known watercolor artists. She usually works in series and most of her recent work has dealt with the landscape, especially the rural areas of the Midwest farmland. The patterns of the fields and a barn against a beautiful sky are always an inspiration. Color and design play major roles in her work.
Throughout her career, Hennessy has exhibited in local, regional and national juried exhibits. In the past year her work has been included in shows in California, Vermont, Missouri and for the past several years she has had a painting included in the international Fabriano in Watercolor exhibition in Italy. She has signature membership in the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA Honor Society, Illinois Watercolor Society, Missouri Watercolor Society. She currently serves as President for the Watercolor USA Honor Society and is on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Watercolor Society.
Currently, Hennessy lives and works in the West Loop, Chicago.
