I have always painted. First with oil, including private instruction with Marthe De Spiegheleir. My last oil painting, a copy of Murillo, was 50 years ago.
My education as an architect introduced me to watercolor, and that is providing me a fulltime pleasure now that I have retired. My work is autobiographic, like anything else, and my subjects are chosen at random, impulsively, and rather oriented to understand myself more than anyone else.
My collection of photography feeds my inspiration, and as a member of Aquarelinstituut van België I (A.I.B.) I took the available opportunity to master the technique of working on site; I consider it a reduced way of practiceing the "participational observation" means of understanding, well known among anthropologists. I enjoy writing about painting in "Aquarelinfo" of A.I.B.
My subjects are most diversified: cities, landscapes, flowers, portaits, crowds, animals and sports.
