My professional background as an Architect and Urban Designer and my passion for Arts was forged in my early career in Guanajuato, Mex .in the fine art studios of prof.Jesus Gallardo where I studied drawing,watercolour painting and metal etching.My professional developnment in Canada in the las 43 years has merged Arts,Architecture and Urban design and give me the opportunity to teach Architectural design studios at UBC.and professionally allowed me to travel around the world.These travel have influenced my artistsic vision in teaching .organizing events and workshops in Canada ,Spain and Italy.
My interest in Plein Air lead me to creat events in Vancouver and be an active part of them, The Cherry Blossom Festival (2007-17),The Harmony Festival Plein Air challenge ( 2018-current).
Two International biennales ,(2012) Federation of Canadian Artists as vice president of the FCA board of directors (2010-2016)and the 2014 IWS Biennale as first Canadian representative and member of the board of directors (2012-2015). Also my invited participation to be juror in internationale exhibitions has been a very rewarding experience to see the progression of watercolour around the world .
My Participation and associations with International groups as the Canadian leader representative in the InAquarello International exhibitions annual events in Italy (Fabriano,Urbino and Venize) since (2013 -current) has maintained my increasing interets in the promotion and development of watercolour as a prime art form. The learnings from these international events are always shared in my teaching and demos.
Today I continuo my search in the explorations of drawing and painting In Plein Air and trying to find a personal expression with my works
