Antonio Xavier

António José Xavier was born in 1959 in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. He began studying at the Ramalho Ortigão school with Father Renato, with whom he took drawing lessons and particularly plain air painting during the years 1969 to 1971. At the age of 25, he returned to watercolor painting in a self-taught manner until his profession, musical activity, and family occupied more of his attention. He returned at the age of 65, after retiring from teaching. Currently, he dedicates himself daily to this practice simultaneously with music (transverse flute) and fishing at sea.
