About me
Last autumn, I was fortunate enough to attend a series of wonderful exhibitions that made me reflect. One of the great virtues of art is precisely that: it gives others the ability to meditate.
After immersing myself in Matisse's Fauvism, Pollock's abstract expressionism and Warhol's pop art, I ended up wondering why, within watercolour painting, historically considered the little sister of pictorial techniques, there are so few manifestations of these artistic movements.
When I arrived at the studio, and after a process of meditation and experimentation, my series ‘Why Not’ emerged. For me, as Sargent said, ‘Watercolour is the most difficult of all paints, but also the freest.’ Well, from that freedom came ‘Why Not’, and it is here to stay.
‘Autumn: Why Not’ is the first expression of this series and has been selected to participate in the IV International Watercolour Festival in Córdoba, to be held next March.
Now I present ‘Spring: Why Not’, the second work in this series for the FabrianoInAcquarello 2026 selection, hoping that you will like it and enjoy it as much as I do.

Durante el pasado otoño, tuve la suerte de poder asistir a toda una serie de exposiciones maravillosas que me han hecho reflexionar. Una de las grandes virtudes del arte es, precisamente esa, proporcionar a otros la capacidad de meditar.
Tras una inmersión en el fauvismo de Matisse, el expresionismo abstracto de Pollock y el pop-art de Warhol, acabé pensando ¿por qué dentro de la acuarela, históricamente considerada la hermana pequeña de las técnicas pictóricas, hay tan pocas manifestaciones de ésos movimientos artísticos?
Al llegar al estudio, y tras un proceso de meditación y experimentación, surgió mi serie “Why Not”. Para mí, tal y como decía Sargent, “La acuarela es la pintura más difícil de todas, pero también la más libre”. Pues bien, de ésa libertad llegó “Why Not” para quedarse.
“Otoño: Why Not” es la primera expresión de ésta serie y ha sido seleccionada para participar en el IV Festival Internacional de acuarela de Córdoba, que se celebrará el próximo mes de marzo.
Ahora presento "Primavera:Why Not", la segunda obra de ésta serie para la selección de FabrianoInAcquarello 2026, esperando sea de su agrado y la disfruten tanto como yo.
