Artists Statement
Our ever-changing world is as fluid as watercolor, it is elusive!
Clouds skittering across the sky, long shadows shaping mountains, waves rippling to shore, changes and contrasts by natural forces or manmade visions; these are the reasons I keep reaching for brush and watercolor.
I paint fluid, expressive and impressionistic works in my attempt to capture and portray this fleeting moment in time.
Pencils or crayons were my constant friends growing up. I was always drawing, even in the margins of required schoolwork.
In 2019 I began to explore how watercolors’ movements mimic our natural environment as it flows with its own mind over and through the paper creating a painting.
