For me, painting is a way of noticing the world around me and trying to capture it. Like a prayer or an offering, it is a way of thanking the universe for the opportunity to see and participate in this one moment in time. The play of light, the quickly changing clouds, an intimate moment between friends – I am drawn to many different things.
I am still searching for my place as an artist. I use many materials – from watercolor to acrylics to pastels. But I always come back to watercolor for its transparency and luminescence. (It’s also really easy to clean up.) I continue to work to improve my skills.
