Watercolour is my main media. Preferably I paint outdoor. However the weather or lack of light as night falls brings me back to my atelier to continue the artwork.
I have been trained in the School of Design in Bern and in various other workshops worldwide, but consider myself mostly self-taught.
Beside Watercolor I work with prints (Etching/Intaglio, Woodblock print or Screenprint). I run my worksop in the Bernese Oberland Area in Switzerland.
I use an artist pseudonyma: HR Federhirn.
The Candidate Picture derives from Cap Breton where we observed Surfers catching a wave or vice versa.
The 4 pictures in the gallery were painted in the beautifull backlands of Switzerland: on the banks of Lake Geneva, hiking in the Alps or along the River Doubs near the old mill, and in the Natural Reserve of Aubonne where the stroks stop over before departing south.
