An artist is the one who sees beauty and grace in everything around him/her and draws inspiration from them through curiosity and keen observation.
It's only an artist that find divinity in every craft of the universe. It's only an artist that can feel color rather than just visually see it.
How much ever we plan our life with certain belief systems around us, we eventually find our basic instincts sooner or later in our lives. Knowingly or unknowingly we find solace in doing things which is it's indispensable characteristics. As a person I am well illuminated with this fact of life and it's always wonderful returning to mode of work which is runs deep down in my veins as a bliss and passion.
I am Preeti Kaur Anand, an Indian artist based in Dubai since three decades. I come from a family where I saw my father paint daily and write poetries, sketch and paint. Watching my dad paint was a bliss for me and this would inspire me to sit next to him and get my burst of creativity out on paper with whatever colors or medium I got my hands on. I knew art was my path and door towards inner happiness and self expression. I enjoyed and saw beauty in the simplest forms around me and found joy and inspiration from my surroundings. I enjoyed watching my mom work in the kitchen and looking at shapes of pots and pans and my grandma looking after her roses. Life couldn't be better.
I did my BFA in painting with extreme happiness and joy. I enjoy working with oils and watercolor. My style of work is allaprima/Impressionism. I always try to capture what I see and observe in my subject in the most simplest way and depicting the essence and spiritual sense of it. I like working with still life and figures. They give me great joy and sense of happiness. I have participated in many exhibitions in and around Dubai and India. Apart from painting I love capturing nature through the lenses of my handy cam and love reading art books
