I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I studied Drawing and Painting for 4 years at Edinburgh College of Art. I graduated in 1986 and have been a professional artist since then, exhibiting in commercial galleries around the UK and abroad. I was elected to the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 2022.
I have specialised in watercolour for 35 years and won 2 prizes at the annual Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) in London. In 2016 I was invited to take part in the biennial watercolour prize 'Marche d'Acqua' in Fabriano, Italy and subsequently I have led the Scottish group of artists 5 times in FabrianoinAcquarello. I have had many solo exhibitions and taken part in many group exhibitions in commercial galleries throughout the UK and internationally.
My subjectmatter is mainly botanical, but I also paint landscapes and portraits, always in watercolour, sometimes incorporating collage and water-soluble mixed media.
Most of my time is spent painting for exhibitions, but I also teach small watercolour workshops several times a year.
My husband is French and we have lived in France and Indonesia. We've now been in Scotland for over 20 years with our 2 daughters (the eldest is a medical doctor and the youngest is a student) and live in the suburbs of the capital city. I enjoy gardening, swimming, cycling (I used to take part in competitive triathlon) and learning languages.

My Summer Garden. This painting is based on several sketches which I made in my garden in 2021. I grew all the flowers myself and spent many hours sitting amongst the flowers, painting and listening to the bees and the birds.
