Audrey’s artistic interests began at an early age. “My favorite gifts as a child were art supplies. I still remember the thrill of opening that box of new crayons, paints and paper." Audrey took art classes throughout school. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Georgia and then continued her education at Auburn University where she received a Bachelor of Architecture. A native of Georgia, Audrey now lives in Beaufort, SC.
“I have enjoyed working in architecture, but have to admit I miss pencil and paper drafting. I took a lot of pride in creating architectural drawings. Now almost everything is done using the computer."
Through the years Audrey has continued to draw and paint as a hobby, but it was not until 2009, after taking her first watercolor class that she became serious about painting. “With these lessons, I developed a true passion for watercolors and find them a fascinating medium. The pigments can be granulating or non-granulating, transparent or opaque and the way each color reacts to another is different. The possibilities are endless."
Audrey has achieved Signature Membership in the National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Southern Watercolor Society, South Carolina Watermedia Society and is an associate member of the American Watercolor Society.
