My watercolours are mostly landscapes of local scenes in the East Riding of Yorkshire, UK, and views from trips abroad to France, Italy and Greece.
I'm a self-taught artist who started painting in retirement and immediately loved the challenge of watercolour. What continues to appeal is the careful planning and concentrated practice it demands combined with the focus and spontaneity of any performance art. Just watching water and pigment blend on paper keeps giving such pleasure and always a sense of discovery.
