Personal Profile

A citizen of Costa Rica where she was born and where she has lived most of her life. Currently 76 years old and fully dedicated to painting. Watercolor and acrylic painting have been a lifelong love affair for Kopper since she was very young; she has extensive experience in the art community since she evolved, not only as an artist, but from 1978 to 1982 she was Director of the MUSEO DE ARTE COSTARRICENSE (Costa Rica Art Museum) to which she returned from 1998 to 2001 as Vice-president of the Board of Directors. She has participated with her paintings in numerous art expositions (collective and personal).

 

She holds a Master Degree in Architecture from UNIVERSIDAD AUTONOMA DE CENTRO AMERICA–STUDIUM GENERALE in Costa Rica obtained with honors in 1992; a degree in Plastic Arts from the School of Arts of University of Costa Rica; and previously had studied Art History while living in the United States.

 

Kopper is experienced in different fields of endeavor; independent Architectural Consultant and Designer, Member of the Board of Directors of Ingenio San Gerardo S.A., Projects Director for Concreto Industrial S.A. and Partner to her engineer husband Max in designing and building homes for sale (a business which they practiced for over 35 years).

Several years of teaching and academic consulting work are included in her extensive experience. From 2002 to 2006 she was History Professor and Member of the Academic Council at the Architecture School of UNIVERSIDAD LATINA; from 2002 to 2006 consultant to the Architecture School of UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL in the making of a territorial master plan (Plan Regulador) for the Municipalities of the counties of Escazu and San Pedro de Poas.

 

Kopper is active leader in community activities. For more than 25 years has been a member of Colegio de Arquitectos de Costa Rica.<
