Khalid Al Mudallal Biography

 

Khalid Al Mudallal is an Iraqi Canadian painter who is best known for painting landscapes with a focus on realistic, oriental and architectural themes, he worked as a professional Civil Engineer for more than 24 years because of his passion for architecture.

 

Khalid was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1971. He started painting since early childhood; he was recognized by his parents, relatives and kindergarten teacher. He used to spend long time painting started with pencil then gradually to water colors and oil paints.

As a child he participated in many exhibitions and got the silver medal of a Japanese international kid’s competition in the year 1979. In the middle of 1980’s and as a teenager he joined the Iraqi Children cultural House that published many magazines and comics books, he spent more than two years as a trainee and painting with other famous Iraqi artists at that time specialized with Water Colors and Gouache. In the year 1985 he joined the International Animation Centre in Baghdad and was specialized with cartoons background painting.

In 1990’s and after 2000 till present time, he participated in exhibitions in Iraq, Abu Dhabi, and in Edmonton, Alberta.

Painting for Khalid is a passion and it is like an inspiration or a need to taste and live the beauty of life, he feels like travelling with his body and soul to the places and sceneries he paints, he is very much keen to express the moments and thoughts genuinely.
